Spring Fling Pants

I've been working on some snazzy pants. they are extremely bright, but I thought they would be fun for the summer. I used the pattern Simplicity 1699 which I bought at Joann's for $1. I plan to make the peplum top and dress from it too. The fabric I got from Joann Fabrics as well. Below I will show you some pictures of the pants. I still have to finish the waist, put in a zipper, and hem the bottom.

Rocker Dress

I finished my Simplicity 1897 Suede Says dress awhile ago and finally found time to take pictures my creation. I used a skull and flower fabric that I found on EBay and black floral lace from Joann Fabrics. I think I did a pretty good job considering it was my first time reading a patter which can be pretty tricky. Plus I wish I read my sewing machine user manual to see which foot to use...I waited till the end but I wish I read it sooner. It would have made my sewing a lot more consistent.

This is the front view which has a scoop neck.

Here is the upper back that has a zipper with lace.

It's hard to see but this pattern is a racer back pattern. I really like the lace and zipper detail. I wanted a really edgy dress and I think I conquered it. Also, this is very comfortable to wear it is stretchy and has elastic at the waist so it looks very slimming.

So far I have almost completed my first project...Simplicity 1897 Suede Says Collection. I will post pictures shortly.

If you are an experienced seamstress please feel free to give any pointers as well.
